Norwegian royal Maud Angelica Behn has come out publicly after attending Oslo Pride with her mother.
On Saturday (28 June), Behn attended the Pride event with her mother, Her Highness Princess Martha Louise of Norway.
22-year-old Maud is the daughter of Louise and her first husband Ari Behn, who died by suicide in 2019 at the age of 47. She is also the granddaughter of King Harald V.
Following the Pride event, Behn took to Instagram to speak about her sexuality publicly for the first time.
Behn shared a series of joyful Pride photos, in which she wore fuchsia and purple, mirroring the bisexual flag. She captioned the images: “Happy Pride from a bisexual person! This year’s Pride was absolutely amazing and there was so much love.”
Her declaration makes her the first member of the Norwegian royal family to publicly come out.
Princess Martha Louise also reposted images from the Pride event, including one of her embracing Behn as she holds her bisexual flag fan and a Pride flag.
She wrote a lengthy caption that “love is never wrong”, adding: “This Pride Month, I want to honour the courage it takes to live your truth.
